I have absolutely no issues with Gears 3’s appearance either though. No blocky low detail geometry here, it's smooth and detailed to be as close as possible to what you see in the game! I would describe it as medium detail, what you see in the preview is exactly what you get, no rendering tricks.
This is a fan model, and by far the best to be found anywhere.
